1.      Appointment unit：The Master Program of Long-Term Care in Aging, College of Nursing, Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU)

2.      Criteria of Applicants：

All of the following qualifications must be met:

(1) Applicants should hold a PhD from a domestic or overseas university in a field related to gerontology and long-term care (including interdisciplinary specialties such as social work, medical sociology, policy studies, nursing and rehabilitation-physical, occupational therapy, or sports medicine, or possess an Assistant Professor (or above) certificate issued by the Ministry of Education.

(2) Applicants must have English teaching ability.

(3) Meet the basic qualifications for the position as stipulated in the university’s “Teacher Appointment and Promotion Qualification Measures” and fulfill the required criteria outlined in the university’s “Scoring Standards for New Appointment and Promotion of Full-time Teachers” under Category III: Nursing Science – College of Nursing.

3.      Position/Vacancies：Contract or tenure-track Assistant Professor (or above)/One

4.      Date of Hiring：February 1, 2027 (Subject to review progress)

5.      Application due date：May 29, 2026 (based on the postmark date)

Candidates meeting the requirements will be notified for interviews, during which original documents must be presented.

The interview includes a presentation on your specialization, teaching demonstration, and research performance, followed by a Q&A session with the committee.

6.      Detailed information：

(1) One copy of the “Kaohsiung Medical University Full-time Faculty Application Form” (Attachment 01), with photo and signature (or digital image and seal).

(2) One copy each of documentary proof corresponding to the educational background and work experience listed in the application form.

Please include copies of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral diplomas, service years verification, Ministry of Education teaching certificate, and other supporting documents.

(3) One autobiography and a future teaching and research plan.

A.       The autobiography should specify your relevant experience in the field of gerontology and long-term care.

B.        Include one copy of the “Future Teaching and Research Development Plan” (Attachment 02).

C.        Any other documents beneficial for review.

(4) One copy of the “Faculty Self-Evaluation Form.”

Please complete the sections related to common and publication criteria, and the research portion according to the rank you are applying for (Attachment 03).

(5) One copy of the “List of Publications for Review” and related supporting documents (Attachment 04).

A.       Applicants must include their H-index and provide proof of SCIE/SSCI/EI indexing for the year prior to publication for each paper listed, arranged according to the order in the publication list.

B.        For example, if the effective appointment date is February 1, 2027:

Representative and major publications must be works for which the applicant is the first author or corresponding author, published within five years after obtaining the previous faculty rank (from February 1, 2022–January 31, 2027).

Reference publications must be works published within seven years after obtaining the previous faculty rank (from February 1, 2020–January 31, 2027).

(6) One letter of recommendation from the PhD advisor is required; additional letters from current or former employers/professors are also accepted.

★ Please compile and bind all items in the order of (1) through (5) and publications. Submit one hard copy and one scanned PDF file. Recommendation letters should be sealed separately.

★ All forms are available from the KMU Human Resources Office website. Do not forget to complete the “Personal Data Collection Consent Form.”
